Essex Police has confirmed two people were left injured after a disturbance on a housing estate last night.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH following the incident which took place on the Kursaal estate in Southend.
A police spokesman said: "We were called shortly after 7.45pm yesterday, Wednesday, April 18, with reports of a disturbance involving a group of people at an address in Kursaal Way.
"A 42-year-old man was stabbed in the shoulder and a 19-year-old woman suffered a slash wound to her neck.
"Their injuries were not life changing or life threatening.
"A 21-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.
"He is currently in custody for questioning."
