AN MP visited a school to discuss the the possibility of upgrading the condition of the road.

Rayleigh and Wickford MP Mark Francois paid a visit to Martin Coulson, headteacher at Bromfords School at Grange Avenue, Wickford.

Grange Avenue suffers from a number of potholes and dents in the road surface, not least due to the heavy use that it gets when parents travel to and from school on the school run every day.

The MP has made representations to both Basildon Council and Essex County Council about the possibility of having the road, part of which is currently unadopted, upgraded to a higher standard.

Mr Francois said: “Grange Avenue is a very heavily used road, not least because of having the school and I am very keen to support the school’s efforts to get the road improved. If the local authorities can be persuaded to undertake this work, that would be to the benefit to both the school and local residents alike.”
