A VIOLENT thug throw a brick at a woman and smashed her car windscreen.

Jo Stallan, in her 50s, from Leigh, had parked her car in Leigh Road, Leigh, in the early evening, when a man on a bike approached her vehicle.

The man said something to her as she was getting into her car, before he dropped his bike and ducked into an alleyway.

Thinking his behaviour was odd, she walked around to see what he was doing.

She then saw he had picked up a brick and she was forced to duck out to of the way as he threw it at her.

She ran back to take refuge of her car, but he threw the brick at the windscreen, cracking it in two places.

The woman said that she wants to thank two policemen for assisting her.

She called it an “eventful and upsetting evening”.

She said she thinks the guy must have either been drunk, or on drugs.

The woman had planned to enjoy an evening at the theatre, but she cancelled her plans after the incident.

She took to social media, including Facebook and Twitter, to post about the drama and raise awareness.

She went on to say that she was unharmed, and the shock set in an hour or so later - and now she is having to face the inconvenience and cost of fixing the car windscreen.

It was badly cracked with two large smashed areas.

She has publicly thanked Essex Police officers for their help at the scene.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We were called to reports a car had been damaged in Leigh Road, Leigh.

“The victim, reported a brick had been thrown at a silver Toyota Yaris causing damage to the windscreen.
