FAMILIES and visitors to a leisure park took a trip back in time and met some exotic creatures at a special event.

Festival Leisure Park, Basildon held the event to mark the new film Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom.

A “life size” T-Rex arrived at the park on Saturday, appearing at intervals between 11am and 4pm.

The incredible creature stood at nine feet high and more than four metres in length, with a huge tail swinging from left to right, blinking eyes, and moving arms and legs.

Despite it’s fearsome appearance, it was very friendly. Children and adults of all ages enjoyed the opportunity to marvel at this fantastic creature.

There was also plenty of other entertainment.

Children enjoyed free face painting on the day, as well as the chance to get up close and personal with reptiles that still roam the earth.

There was a 14ft Burmese python, an armadillo, spiders and many other creatures with cinema goers getting up close to the unusual visitors. The new film is the fifth in the series and is already proving to be a big hit.
