The Crown Prosecution Service has dropped the charges against two people who appeared at court in connection to Fabian Kacica's murder.

Michael Nyathi, 18, of Steeplefield, Leigh, and a 17-year-old boy from Shoebury, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were initially charged with murder.

They will now face no further action after the CPS and the police have agreed the charges should be dropped.

The reasons are unknown at this stage.

Fabian Kacica, 19, from Southend, died after a disturbance near the town's library.

Two other men are set to face criminal proceedings at court charged with the teenager's murder.

Aidon Pearce, 20, unemployed, of Treecot Drive, Leigh, and Joe Paffrey, 20, unemployed, of Old Southend Road, Southend, are next due to appear at court on Friday, July 13.

A fifth man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, robbery and possession of drugs, in connection with the murder investigation.

He has been released on bail until July 12.
