A PREGNANT salon owner has said a burglary left her “feeling sick”.

The burglar targeted Funky Buddha House of Hair in High Street, Canvey, in the early hours of yesterday morning.

He threw a brick through the front doors, smashing the glass and stole equipment during the raid at about 12.10am.

The crook has left the owner facing a huge bill of at least £1,000 to pay to repair the damage and restock the salon.

Andrea Sadler, 32, said she is trying to keep calm as she is five months pregnant.

Andrea, who runs the beauty salon with her business partner Becky Wilson, 34, runs was woken up in the middle of the night as a resident called her to inform her what happened at her business.

She said: “The woman called the police and shouted at the burglar.

“The man had walked around the building to see if he could get into the back doors.

“In the end he smashed the double front glass doors.

“He was also stopped by a nearby food outlet worker who approached and chased the man away.

“He had blood over his hands after he cut himself on the glass from the doors.

“He stole a remote for the tv, a box of eyelash equipment. The doors and blinds are very badly damaged and smashed.”

The beauty salon owner said the till, flooring and an inside wall were all damaged after he broke in.

She said new chairs that had only recently installed in the salon which are now damaged after glass was thrown over them.

Ms Sadler said: “This has made me feel sick to my stomach.

“I mustn’t get too worked up or stressed because of the baby.

“The salon is like my second home as I run the business here and it’s my life.

“I and the team have worked so hard to build up our business.”

“It happened to us before about three years ago.

“It is just so upsetting, I am so tired.”

She said she has been left absolutely fuming and gutted by the fact the business has been targeted again.

Despite the damage, she still bravely opened yesterday after having a clean-up.

A spokesman for Essex Police confirmed officers are investigating.
