Commuters are facing severe disruption on the c2c railway line which is expected to last until 9pm.
The company said the disruption was due to ’damage to overhead electric wires between London Fenchurch Street and Barking’.
Consequently, any services between Fenchurch Street and Barking ’may be cancelled, delayed or revised’.
Services via Ockendon and Rainham are also affected, the company said.
The c2c website currently lists 29 cancelled trains between now and 7pm.
Customers have been advised to travel by Greater Anglia, London Underground and Transport for London services, all of which are accepting c2c tickets ’via any reasonable route until further notice’.
While c2c has now reopened the Grays line, the number of services would still be reduced due to the ongoing problem at Fenchurch Street, which will not be fixed until late tonight.
