The man who was stabbed to death in Pitsea has been named.

Dwayne Forrester, 21, from Basildon, was found injured in Little Garth, near Pitsea Road, at around 8.45pm on Saturday, July 7.

He was taken to hospital but, sadly, died a short time later.

A forensic post-mortem investigation found he had suffered a stab wound to the chest.

Detective Inspector Stuart Truss, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: “Our investigations are continuing and progressing well.

“Officers will continue to carry out house-to-house and CCTV enquiries from homes and businesses in Little Garth and the surrounding area, and people living there can expect to see a significant police presence.

“A cordon had been in place closing off part of Pitsea Road but that has now been lifted and the road is open.

“We have a number of lines of enquiry and believe this was a targeted and isolated incident with no risk to the wider public.

“My team still needs to speak to anyone who may have information about the incident, including anyone who has CCTV or dash cam footage.”
