A CLEAN-UP of Southend beaches is being supported by homeless charity Harp.
While thousands of people flock to the beaches in Southend, sadly this means a lot of rubbish is left behind.
Harp, together with Southend Council, is encouraging its service users to help the clean-up effort.
Harp project worker, Prakash Shah, said: “When the people we support get involved with opportunities like this we often see a real confidence boost, and many tell us that it is nice to feel part of their local community.
“Being homeless can be lonely and many can feel isolated by the troubles they are facing, but there is an amazing community in Southend and initiatives like this empower local homeless people to make a real difference to others in the town.”
