Detectives investigating the murder of a woman in Basildon are appealing for the driver of a silver Citroen Saxo to come forward.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have been driving the vehicle along Durham Road, Laindon on Friday June 8th.

The driver of the vehicle may hold key information which could help the investigation.

Tina Cantello, 49, left her home in Basildon at 5pm on Friday June 8.

Her body was found just before 6pm on Saturday June 9 at a property in Derby Close, Langdon Hills.

Senior investigating officer Det Chief Insp Martin Pasmore of the Harlow Major Crime Team said: “If you were driving a silver Citroen Saxon along Durham Road on Friday June 8th, or if you know someone who may have been, we would like to hear from you.

“We believe this person may hold key information which could assist our investigation into Tina’s murder.”

Geoffrey Hutton, 38, of Derby Close, Langdon Hills has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Tina Cantello. He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court for trial in November.
