Police are appealing for information after a boy was stabbed and another assaulted last night.
The attack took place in May Avenue, Canvey, at around 11.50pm yesterday, Friday, July 13.
Two boys were walking when they were approached by a group of boys and girls and assaulted.
One of the boys, aged 16, suffered 3 stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment and his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
It is understood he was taken to the royal London Hospital where he underwent surgery.
The other boy was punched in the face and suffered cuts and bruising.
The victims managed to run away and escape in a passing taxi before police were called.
UPDATE: Six arrested on suspicion of attempted murder
The first boy has been described as being white, aged in his teens, with a dark top with a white line on the arm.
The second boy has been described as being white in his teens and wore a white long-sleeved shirt.
A third boy has been described as being white and wore black clothing.
One of the girls has been described as wearing a red dress while the other was wearing a red shirt and a dark top.
Police believe the victims and the suspects may have attended a large party in the area and possibly left the event at the same time but enquiries are still ongoing.
