Two women and a man caused criminal damage or shouted racial abuse to customers at a Westcliff pub.
The group visited the Cricketers in London Road, bought a drink and sat in the garden area.
The man then threw a glass at a wall and a shard of glass struck a car tyre and damaged it before he left the scene.
After the man had left, a member of staff spoke with one of the women who he said made racially abusive comments towards him.
Essex Police would like to speak with two people concerning what took place.
They would like to speak to a man, described as white, wearing glasses and a white and black striped shirt and a woman, wearing a white and black blouse, with black hair and sunglasses on her head.
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Sharon Blaxland at Southend police station on 101 quoting crime reference 42/77771/18 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
