SHOPPERS will soon be able to enjoy a free game of table tennis in Basildon town centre.
An empty shop in Eastgate Shopping Centre has been turned into a free ping pong parlour.
There is no need to book a slot - just turn up, grab a bat and enjoy a game.
The initiative has already been widely welcomed by residents, who say it is a great use of an empty space and something for youngsters to do.
The ping pong parlour is due to open soon.
