An air ambulance was dispatched to Westcliff yesterday after a man in his 30s suffered a seizure on the London Road.
An ambulance crew and rapid response vehicle were also dispatched to the scene at 3.20pm.
The man was later transported by ambulance to Southend Hospital.
The arrival of the emergency services coincided with another incident in Central Avenue, Southend, when a 10-year-old boy was hit by a car.
The boy was taken to hospital with cuts and bruises after being hit at around 3.40pm.
No further action was taken against the driver of the vehicle.
