A KEEN photographer has captured the beauty of a seaside town after an Echo group encouraged her to take up the hobby.

Helen Wakeham, 40 of Osborne Road, Westcliff picked up her camera and took a trip to Shoebury seafront to show the “beautiful beach” from her perspective.

Helen joined the Echo Camera Club earlier this year and he since had a great interest in photography.

She said: “What’s not to love about Shoebury?

“Having recently joined the Echo Camera club and buying my first camera, I love to head down to Shoebury for the history and the beautiful beach.

“Every time I head down there, I discover something new and its been wonderful to learn about the history of the Garrison and all of the old war time buildings.”

Shoebury boasts a range of sights aside from just its beach.

Helen’s photos show the areas that are not often seen on the seafront, as well as the street art which adds colour to the seafront.

However, Helen’s favourite thing about the seafront is watching the tide.

She added: “As a lover of the beach and the seaside, it’s wonderful to be able to spend time here and with the ever changing horizon of the tide.

“I love being able to photograph the boats as the tide changes.

“Shoebury really is a beautiful place.”
