A ROAD has been closed after a car crashed into a railway level crossing.
The barrier was badly damaged at about 7am today on the A29 at Woodgate, near Chichester.
Sussex Police are assisting British Transport Police at the scene.
The driver drove off after the incident.
Trains continue to run but are travelling slowly. Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to report online at sussex.police.uk/appealresponse or call 101 quoting serial 209 of 10/08.
