YOU don’t need a golden ticket- or indeed any type of ticket- to catch an outdoor cinema screening in Southend tomorrow (Saturday).
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - the original 1971 musical starring Gene Wilder (pictured) will be shown outside of the Forum in Elmer Square, Southend at 6pm.
The event is free for all and people can just turn up with their picnics and blankets to enjoy the film, based on Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book of the same name.
It is part of a series of outdoor film screenings being held at the Forum in August thanks to The White Bus in conjunction with Visit Southend. Next week it will be the turn of The Witches, starring Angelica Houston to be shown.
