A FAMILY have launched a new appeal to help find a woman who has been missing for 20 years.

Lorraine Freeman was last seen in Purfleet on August 13 in 1998.

Since her disappearance, her family have been searching for information to help bring her home.

Lorraine would now be 55-years-old.

Her family have now teamed up with the charity Missing People as they continue to look for her.

Ian Roullier, Missing People's publicity coordinator, said: "If anybody has any information about Lorraine then we urge you to contact the charity.

"Our number is completely confidential and free to call or text on 116 000.

"Lorraine, if you are reading this, please get in touch, in confidence, to let us know you are okay.

"We can’t trace your call.

"We just want to provide you with the support you need and help you to be safe.”

Lorraine has been described by her loved ones as having a Scottish accent, of mixed race, around 5ft1in tall and of slim build.

She has brown eyes and, at the time of her disappearance, had dark brown, shoulder-length hair.

Anyone who has seen Lorraine can contact Missing People anonymously on 116 000 or email 116000@missingpeople.org.uk

It is free to contact and open 24 hours a day thanks to support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Sightings and information about any missing person can also be given anonymously through the Missing People website at www.missingpeople.org.uk/sightings
