Police have been seen this morning near a lake in a popular public park.
Witnesses saw a number of officers in Friars Park in Shoebury, close to the water, however the reason for the ongoing police presence has not yet been confirmed.
It has been reported that at least one police vehicle is an attendance, with a small police raft also entering the water.
A Southend Council spokesperson confirmed that they had allowed police access to the park, however the park has remained open to the public.
Essex Police have been contacted for comment.
