A COMMUNITY club donated £1,000 to a homeless charity.

Leigh Lions Club presented Harp with a cheque for the donation.

Lisa Walton, community and individual fundraising officer for HARP met with Lion Club president Tony Prior and club member Tim Watts for the cheque presentation.

Harp is the leading Southend charity helping people overcome homelessness for good.

It provides essential services and long term solutions to support local people taking steps to overcome homelessness.

The charity also offers ongoing one-to-one support and work closely with partner agencies to provide a 360 degree approach to improving health, wellbeing, and housing.

This includes access to meals, health advice, counselling and peer support, access to clothing, washing facilities, a meaningful activities programme, and a listening ear for when the journey feels tough.
