A CHARITY group has raised £400 for a group that supports rough sleepers in Southend.
The Castle Point Charity Players raised the cash after hosting a series of comedy performances at St Georges Church Hall in Rushbottom Lane, Benfleet.
Normally the group host two productions a year, mainly comedies to raise funds for community causes.
The group presented a cheque to Harp, the charity for homelessness following the production on June 2.
Lisa Walton joined the players for the cheque handover.
A spokesman for the Charity Players, said: "The Charity Players have been established for many years and raised money for various local charities during this time.
"At the previous production we raised £800 for First Responders."
