SOUTHEND United striker Matt Harrold will attend a charity gig to help raise money for a policeman who suffered a broken neck in a rugby match.
The player will be at the launch party of the Arron Williams Trust Fund at Talk nightclub in Lucy Road, Southend, from 8pm to 1am on Tuesday, November 13.
The event has been organised to raise money for 25-year-old Arron Williams, from Thundersley, a keen sportsman, who suffered a serious spinal injury while playing for Basildon First XV on September 15.
He is now in Stoke Mandeville spinal unit and has only limited movement in his arms, with no other movement from the neck down.
The striker, will attend the event, as will BBC presenter James Love. He said: "Arron's accident is terrible news. Hopefully there will be a good turnout at the event and we can raise a lot of money for him."
The evening will feature music from DJs and two bands with members who work for Essex Police. There also will be a raffle with prizes including a Sony PSP, men's and women's Oakley sunglasses and an iPod Nano.
A signed Southend United ball, a mountain bike and a Ted Baker watch will also be auctioned.
Tickets are on sale in Talk's reception and Vie Bar, in Leigh, and on the door at the event.
