A man has died after a medical emergency in Shoebury, it has been confirmed.

The ambulance service has confirmed a man died after the incident Blythe Avenue, in Shoebury yesterday.

An air ambulance was called to the scene, along with several ambulance vehicles.

It is believed the helicopter landed near the Thorpedene primary school.

A spokesman for the East of England ambulance service, said: "We were called to Blythe Avenue in Shoebury shortly before 3pm yesterday, June 30, to reports of a medical emergency.

"We sent two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.

"Despite everyone’s best efforts, a male patient sadly died at the scene."
