Vandals caused damage costing £3,000 after they broke into a golf club and embarked on a wrecking spree in stolen golf buggies.
The yobs got into the St Clere's Hall golf club in London Road, Stanford-le-Hope, then forced open a metal container containing three golf buggies.
The culprits drove the buggies around the course, tearing up the greens and causing extensive damage, before deliberately crashing the vehicles and dumping them in nearby Butts Lane. Police are investigating the incident which happened overnight sometime between Sunday December 23 and Christmas Eve.
