Disgusting, despicable and vile!
This kind of thing is happening virtually every single day - innocent people being targetted by scum bags like these whom, when apprehended it would seem are given a minimum sentence for actual bodily harm or less?
Someone out there knows whom these predetors are, make our world safe and free of them, turn them in and at least give them a fair trial where they can repent at their leisure!
Hope the victim of this henious attack is able to recover from this terrifying ordeal and gains confidence to go out alone again in the future.

The comments by Dave and Helen are beyond belief. Unless they know who did this attack why are they assuming there was more than one. Also there is a one sided report here and as the attacker/s have yet to put their side across then how do we know it was unproveked. There may be someone out there with a knife or gun wound that acted in self defense or maybe the person that was attacked is a child molester or worse. Know the FACTS before commenting please.

I agree with Helen and Dave, these attacks are happening far too often and usually by a gang of thugs who are trying to show bravado in front of their mates. If the attack wasn't unprovoked the police would never have mentioned so in a statement.

DC Wiseman did say it was an unprovaked attack but he has only got one side of the story. If they make an arrest and the person is then convicted you can all comment with All the information so until then keep your biased comments to yourself.

I live just round the corner from the station and it makes me so sad to read that you can't even walk the streets in Rayleigh without being put in hospital these days. Rayleigh certainly isn't the town it once was - lets hope it's not a sign of things to come. I wish the guy that was injured a speedy recovery.

Is it okay to viciously assualt someone if they are only suspected of being a child molester, or do you need them to have been found guilty in a court of law?

Make your mind up quick or you are as guilty as you claim Dave and Helen are!

I know the guy who was the victim of this disgusting, unprovoked attack. He is not the sort of person who looks for trouble, he is a nice guy with not a violent bone in his body. I hope that the cowardly b*stards that set upon him like wild animals get their come uppance & soon. An eye for an eye ....

I also know the victim of this, and agree that he is a top bloke who would help anyone. Whoever did this deserves to be locked up and we need to make an example of them so that more thugs take notice. Get well soon mate
