A DOG lover is campaigning to highlight the risks if pooches are left in hot cars.
Raine Bryant, 51, of Wimborne Road, Southend, has been backed by vets and pet shops for her campaign, which includes leaflets being distributed across the country.
Mrs Bryant, a graphic designer, said: "The statistics are just frightening. In less than ten minutes a dog can suffer severe heatstroke, brain damage and fall into a coma."
Mrs Bryant has also set up a website www.keepyourdogcool.co.uk She does all the work herself, and pays for the printing and distribution costs out of her own pocket.
