Firefighters have tackled a bedroom fire in a Darlington home this evening (Monday, March 25).
Emergency services were alerted to the fire at a terraced home in the town's Banklands Road, at about 6.20pm.
A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said two appliances were sent to the scene.
The fire was confined to a bedroom and extinguished.
On-call Station Manager Craig Jewkes said: "This was a small bedroom fire, everybody got out safely and unhurt.

"It’s important to remember to have a working smoke alarm and to ensure it is tested.
"County Durham and Darlington Fire Brigade conduct free home fire safety visits to all residents of County Durham and Darlington, fitting free smoke alarms and giving free fire safety advice."
