FAMILY fun will be a special shade of green down at Marsh Farm this weekend.
The farm and country park, in South Woodham Ferrers, will be going all out to promote environmental issues on Saturday.
There will be workshops on willow crafts to stilt walkers, hedge and seed planting, jewellery making and story-telling to keep every member of the family entertained.
Musicians Weapons of Sound will also be showing recycling at its best by performing on their specially crafted instruments which are constructed entirely from reclaimed junk.
There will also be a mobile climbing wall and archery range for those with an adventurous streak.
The event has been organsied by Essex County Council’s Young Assembly.
Simon Walsh, Essex councillor for schools, children and families, said: “Our Young Essex Assembly is working really hard to fulfil its green pledge and I am really proud that our budding young politicians are taking their commitment to the environment so seriously.
“This event promises to be a winner with a host of great activities and performances.”
The event will run from 10.30am am to 3pm, although the park will be open until 5pm.
Entry to Marsh Farm, which includes the family fun day, costs £6.25 adults and £3.75 for children aged three to 16. Children under the age of three go free.
