LOOKING for love can be a tough task for all singletons out there.

But Zoe Fitter has decided not to mope around. Instead, she’s taking the initiative, with a little help from her friends and relatives.

Bar worker Zoe is celebrating her 35th birthday by inviting prospective suitors to a party, so those closest to her can vet them before they get the chance of a date.

The party is at Churchill’s Bar, in Tylers Avenue, Southend, on Friday October 17 and inviting all interested men who fit the bill will be welcome.

Zoe, of Palmerston Road, Westcliff, said: “The trouble is, I keep kissing handsome princes and they keep turning into frogs.

“My friends reckon they can choose better for me, so I’m allowing them to.

“If you’re between 30 and 40, more than 5ft 6ins tall, honest, trustworthy and genuine, with a good personality, why not come down and talk to my friends and family?

“They’ll decide if you’re up to putting up with me. If they think you are, they’ll take your number to arrange a date.

“What I’m saying to people reading this is if you have a brother, uncle, dad or friend who is single and you don’t know why, send them down. If I’m not his type, some of my friends are single, too, so you never know.”

She added: “I have an incredible knack of picking the wrong type of guy. If picking unsuitable boy-friends was an Olympic sport, I’d be a gold medalist.

“Don’t get me wrong, I’m not desperate. I don’t need to meet someone, but I’d like to.”

Bubbly, blue-eyed Zoe, who describes herself as curvaceous and 5ft 6ins tall, added: “I’m a normal girl, very low maintenance and in for an easy life.

“I’ve no jealous streak and no skeletons hiding in my closet.”
