TWO women were seriously injured after falling into a basement on a building site.
It happened at a site in Woodside, Leigh, about 4.45pm on Tuesday.
One woman was taken to hospital on a stretcher with suspected spinal injuries, while the other was carried out in a wheelchair with a broken ankle.
A crew from Leigh fire station were called to help ambulance crews get them out of the hole.
Firefighter Dan Hawkins said: “They were looking at the building and were walking over a wooden board and fell into the basement."
