Cat rescued after two nights on a roof

A CAT was rescued after being stuck on a roof for two nights.

Sid, an 18-month-old ginger tom, got on to a neighbour’s roof in Wedgwood Way, Ashingdon, on Monday afternoon, but soon realised he could not get back down again.

After suffering there for two wet and windy nights, his owners contacted the RSPCA, who called Rochford firefighters.

Yesterday, using the moggy’s favourite biscuits, firefighter Kurt Hansen lured Sid to the safety of a RSPCA sack.

Once back down to earth, Sid was returned into the care of his relieved owner.
