Cars stop-checked in Hadleigh

POLICE stop-checked 23 cars in Hadleigh at the weekend.

Special constables carried out the operation by the old fire station on Friday night.

They issued one caution for possession of cannabis and ordered one person to produce their vehicle documents at a police station within seven days.

Ten breath tests were carried out but no one was arrested for drink driving.

They also issued forms which required people to get problems on their cars fixed.

of the people , save the padddling pool , i have used the pool back in the 60s whilst on holiday as a kid its a part of canvey island history that should not only be saved but also improved with edge protection ,

Maybe the police should do some stop checks in Westcliff especially between The Plough and Hamlet Court Rd,i'm sure they would have to dish out more than one caution there!

You Sir are a fool of the highest order and I bet you are an armchair politician too.

If you "tug" a driver if could be for a variety of reasons - speeding / seat belt / mobilephones / headlights / foglights etc etc

Not all of these end up as a caution, more so pentalty tickets, words of advice or if anything serious an arrest.

Please do your research before you comment as you end up looking daft.

(also surprised this wasn't down to Nu Labour etc etc as you continually tubthump that everything is their fault)

Perhaps its because the same zeal, does not seem to be in evidence in respect to other types of crime.

maybe its the courts that let us all down , just look at the sentences given out, not the police fault, but i don't pretend to be an expert ,just my opinion....

Thank you for the compliment.

And I take your point, it was all worthwhile.

1 person issued with a caution and 23 persons stopped and ???

As for New Labour I agree they have done extremely well in the last 12 years and the criminal's Justice System has done wonders in Social engineering, as an example in a 2 1/2 year period in the Lancashire Police District 24 murders were committed by persons on bail, together with 62 attempted murders,9 rapes, 283 robberies, 667 burglaries and 11,171 other crimes.

Halved sentences and early release have done wonders.

Still what do you expect when the Attorney General Baroness Scotland, the Deputy Leader dear Harriet break the law with pride.

Labour is killing us!!

Amazing, richomack360, he has completely failed to address any of your points, and carried on with own agenda!

I wish the Police would come to Canvey for speed checks.I was walking to the Bus stop on Long Road this morning at 06:20 when a white Renault Clio whizzed past me at 70mph easy(in a 30 zone) and this is a regular thing at this time of the morning.Accident waiting to happen.

Blah, drone waffle. That is pretty much all I hear from this "evilc" - probably means Evil Conservative.

To summarise and somehow answer the latest tosh you have dragged up:

"Lancashire Police District" - I will stop there as Lancashire has different policies and methods to address various crimes - it differs from force to force, so to compare Essex with Lancashire is like comparing a carrot with a radiator.

Moving on....

If I said to you - would you be prepared to give more tax to the government to build prisons and fund police officers ? - No ? Didn't think so. The country is broke and it would of been broke no matter if your pal Cameron or Brown or Timmy Mallett was in charge.

There is no money to build new prisons, there is no money to magic new police officers out of the ground and there is certainly no easy/quick fix scenario that armchair politicians seem to crave.

The rest of your paragraph is just self agenda based twaddle and best ignored.

Also I leave you this thought - Labour is not making people go out and commit the crimes - it is the half wits themselves that pick up the knives, its the poorly bought up kids etc etc - but I guess you cannot see that and recognise that any problem MUST be to do with the council, government instead of looking at yourself, ask yourself - what have YOU done to improve your community apart from your petty "more holier than thou" attitude on the Echo ?

I suggest instead of tub thumping on the Echo you instead offer your services to the Special Constabulary and give up your time to make a difference - or is your armchair too comfy ?

Give my regards to your chum Lord Hanningfield - at least he is doing the damage before the Tories take charge.

Or have I got you all wrong and you are a Ukip or another independant candidate with a chip on his shoulder?

...and do remember if you don't like it - flights leave out of every major airport every ten min or so...I will pack your bags.

I would pay more to have more police. The Police element of my council tax represents about 10% of the bill. I would be happy to pay double to the police, which would mean a 10% higher total bill.

No, if you paid an extra 10% on the 10% element, the total bill would only represent around 18.18% of the total, not 20%
