A DOG alerted a family to a house fire.
The Rottweiler barked to wake a mum and her two children after a blaze started at their home in Little Warley Hall Lane, Little Warley.
They all escaped the house quickly and called the emergency services.
The fire is thought to have started because of an electrical fault in the property’s fuse box.
Two fire crews from Brentwood, and two from Orsett, were called to the fire shortly after midnight on Saturday (March 13). They wore breathing apparatus to enter the property and spent just under two hours tackling the smoke and flames.
Sub officer Gary Masters, from Orsett Fire Station, said: “It appears the dog thought there was an intruder and alerted the family. And that meant they could evacuate the building quickly and call 999.”
