AN INVESTIGATION has been launched following an accident between a car and an ambulance rapid response vehicle which left two people in hospital.
The accident happened shortly after 8am this morning in London Road, Westcliff, near to the Cricketers pub.
Both drivers were not thought to be seriously injured but were conveyed to Southend Hospital.
The road was closed in both directions for an hour and a half but it has now reopened.
