THREE dentists are taking on patients from Hockley who no longer have NHS cover.
Oasis Dental Care and the Smile Centre, both in High Road, Rayleigh, and the Rochford Dental Practice, in West Street, will pick up patients who were left in the lurch after the White Hart Lane practice, in Hockley, lost its NHS contract.
South East Essex primary care trust has awarded a permanent contract to Harunani and Co, which will be setting up a new practice in Hockley for 2,000 patients.
In the meantime, patients can attend the other surgeries.
Ian Stidston, from the trust, said: “Temporary arrangements will be in place from April 1, until the new NHS provider becomes operational. These services are for local residents who no longer have an existing NHS dentist and need treatment.”
