POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a crash in Great Wakering yesterday afternoon that left an 88-year-old Thorpe Bay woman in Southend hospital with serious injuries.
The crash happened in High Street, Great Wakering outside the Health Centre about 3.20pm.
A silver Vauxhall Corsa driven by the woman was in collision with a red Land Rover driven by a 62-year-old local woman.
The road was closed until about 6.30pm while officers carried out investigations at the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the Rayleigh road policing unit on 0300 333 4444, where the officer dealing is Pc Pete Pettet.
