A HUNGRY householder returned home to find their steak dinner a little overdone after accidentally leaving the cooker on.
Fire crews from Southend were called to reports of smoke coming from a third floor flat in Warrior House, Southchurch Road at around 9.34pm tonight, Thursday, March 18.
The cause of the fire was found to be a steak accidentally left on a switched on cooker.
The flat suffered minor smoke damage as a result of the oversight.
