Street robbery in Westcliff

A MAN has been arrested following a street robbery in Westcliff.

A 20-year-old man had been walking along the London Road, in Westcliff, at about 4.45am on Sunday when he was threatened by two men.

He was near to the junction with Hamlet Court Road when the men took a black Sony Ericsson mobile phone from his pocket.

One man has been arrested and bailed but police need more information to track down the second man.

They want to speak to any witnesses or anyone who was in the area at that time and may have been approached by some men. They believe a group of women may have been harassed by some men near the scene of the crime and would like to speak to them.

A 19 year old man from Westcliff has been arrested and bailed to May 17 on suspicion of robbery.
