Cyclist injured in hit and run in Thorpe Bay

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car failed to stop after colliding with a cyclist.
The incident happened at Burgess Road, Thorpe Bay, near the junction with Thorpe Hall Avenue, on Tuesday, May 25 at about 3.30pm.
The cyclist, a 47-year-old man from Shoebury, was taken to Southend Hospital and treated for cuts and bruises.
Officers are investigating the incident want to hear from anyone with information about the car, a maroon Mercedes with an M registration, and the man driving it. The Mercedes drove off in the general direction of Shoebury.

I do not know the cyclist concerned, but I hope your injuries heal soon, and that the dangerous driver is found and removed from the road asap.
I will be keeping a lookout for this Mercedes, and will be encouraging many other cyclists in the area to do the same.
