AN aspiring young chef from Leigh met her heroes after reaching the final of a prestigious TV cookery competition.

Georgia Bradford, 12, started cooking when she was just six, and is now appearing in the BBC One programme Junior Masterchef.

In the first of the semi-final shows, the Southend High School for Girls pupil met the current Dr Who, actor Matt Smith, but the icing on the cake was meeting her favourite pop band JLS and cooking for them.

Georgia said: “I am a massive fan. That must have been my best day. Meeting JLS and cooking for them was brilliant.

“They are all so nice and even though they had four dishes to eat, they ate them all and complimented them.

“I definitely want to be a chef when I am older, as I believe you should do a job you love and I adore cooking. After going on MasterChef I have proved to myself that being a chef is what I am going to do with my life.”

The final of Junior Masterchef will be broadcast on BBC One tonight, at 4.35pm.
