Dangerous snake on loose in Wickford

RESIDENTS are being warned to be on their guard after a six foot long Boa Constrictor escaped from its owner.

The deadly snake escaped from the bathroom window of a home in Barnfield, Wickford.

Although the reptile's bite is not poisonous constrictors do bite if attacked and wrap themselves around their prey, crushing them to death.

However the missing snake is not fully grown and has been described as a "danger to small animals" by its owner.

Essex Police's wildlife liaison officer has consulted speacialists and the RSPCA over the missing snake.

Anyone who spots it should call 999 immediately and not go near the animal.

Great news perhaps it will eat a few foxes, horizontal drug addicts and drunks.

It's 6 foot, just a baby, I hope people don't hurt it. People who are much smaller than that carry knives and guns!

Anna conned a slow worm once. All she did was loosen her garter, wriggle her little asp and he was hopelessly charmed.

Or if you like, Mark Anthony to Cleopatra, Queen of the Nile:

'nice asp'

the rest is history.

nothing exciting like a boa-ling alley in wickford, it might end up on the menu of the many fast food establishments filling the high street though lol

Gawne and Dury in Wickford? I thought they lived in Woodham Walter and Billericay .

A coupe of low, slimy snakes if there ever was one!

How irresponsible and what a waste of police time, lets hope the owner gets a large fine and a dead snake returned to him !!! Doesn't deserve a pet if he can't look after it.
