Police hunt sex attacker

DETECTIVES have launched an investigation after a woman was sexually assaulted.

The 22-year-old victim was found in a distressed state in York Road, Southend at around 10.30pm on Friday.

She was sexually assaulted by a man who approached her asking for directions at 10.30pm on Friday.

Witnesses can contact Southend CID on 0300 333 4444.

Hope this girl is o.k. There are a lot of areas in this town which are unsafe for lone females,York Road is one of these,especially after dark.

Area was dodgy 30years ago when I was a little un and has not improved.All you can do is warn your kids not to go home that way after dark,a sad state of affairs I know but no one seems capable of solving problems there.

york road is advertised in chelmsford prison as a place to stay when your released.... no matter the crime

At least give us a **** description of the attacker. Hair colour, weight, height, age-range, a bloody e-fit or sketch. Anything.

Hope the victim can get back to some kind of normality asap, and that the attacker is caught soon.

A description would be helpful.

She was raped in southchurch park and they found her in york road (from todays echo) the attacker followed her through woodgrange drive estate so why can't they use the CCTV cameras from the estate to get a photo fit?
