SOUTHEND Airport has been given the thumbs up to build a new 129 bedroom hotel.
Southend Council's development control committee has today approved the plan for the hotel on land adjacent to the Harp House Roundabout.
The hotel will include a restaurant and bar areas and conference facilities with a separate restaurant on the top floor with views overlooking the airport.

Happy to see renewal of the airport but another hotel? We have strawberry fields,The Palace, the travellodge and I thought they were going to build one by the old gas jetty, one where the esplanade pub is and one earmarked for the new footie stadium as well as a possible down Vic Avenue -where are the massed hordes of visitors going to come from?
