A MAN determined to get fit has come up with a novel way of losing weight – training in every Olympic event scheduled for the 2012 games.

Boris Wozstock, 33, has so far ploughed his energies into rowing, badminton, running, cycling, tennis and weightlifting.

With ten more events to get started on, he is managing to get top training tips from former professionals.

These have so far included former sprinter and hurdler Kriss Akabusi and former Canvey decathlete, Dean Macey.

Boris of Elm Road, Leigh, recalled what spurred him into action and gave him the idea to do something a little out of the ordinary.

He said: “I was in a hotel in Ireland, a little worse for wear and I caught sight of myself in the mirror and realised I needed to sort myself out.

“I’ve already briefly tried most forms of exercise and you end up in a gym pounding away on a machine, either staring at a wall or watching a TV, alongside some super fit athlete and you lose heart.

“So I thought to beat the boredom I would set myself the challenge.

“Originally it was a 12 month project, but now I hope to try every sportbefore the 2012 games in London.”

Although Boris admits he is unlikely to trouble the British selectors at the forthcoming London Games, his weight loss plan seems to be working.

The sports fashion salesman, who weighed into his challenge weeks ago at more than 14 stones, has shifted half-a-stone.
