A MAN disturbed burglars who had broken into his home.
The 60-year-old victim returned to his house in Hadleigh Road, Leigh, to be faced with a man who ran out past him whilst shouting to his accomplice to also flee.
The home-owner chased the pair up to the junction with London Road before he lost them, as they ran off towards Hadleigh.
They made off with jewellery and a camera worth about £650.
It happened at about 3.30pm yesterday (Monday, February 13.
One of the men was white, slim, about 6ft tall with short dark blonde hair, in his late teens or early twenties. He wore a dark blue jacket and faded blue jeans and spoke with an ‘Estuary’ accent. The other man had dark hair and was about 5ft 10ins tall and slim.
Anyone with information should call PC Reece Brent at Southend police station on 101.
