A TRUCKER from Billericay is driving home with £100,000 after winning an international TV show crown.

Stuart Barnes, 35, won the finale of Channel Five’s World’s Toughest Trucker show on Friday, beating off seven other truck drivers from around the globe in the eight part series.

During the competition, Mr Barnes, who has driven lorries since he was 18, had to display his skills along some of the world’s most dangerous cargo routes, including in the Australian Outback and Mongolia.

The final round saw the remaining three contestants heading to the Himalayas for a series of challenges.

After winning the prize, Mr Barnes said: "It was incredible taking part in the series.

"My aim was to make it to the last programme, but to win the whole competition - I was stunned."
