DRUG users across Essex are being warned of dangerous batches of cocaine in circulation.
It comes as two people were left in a serious condition, following suspected drug poisoning.
The joint warning from police and the East of England Ambulance Service has been issued to make people aware.
An 18-year-old man from Chelmsford is currently undergoing specialist heart treatment at Basildon University Hospital after ambulance crews were called at 8am today (Saturday) to initial reports that he was having difficulties breathing after taking the drug.
Another patient, from the Tiptree area, was taken into intensive care at Broomfield Hospital last night (Friday) after ingesting cocaine.
An Essex Police spokesman said: " Regular drug users are reminded not to source substances from unknown suppliers while others are advised to refrain from ingesting illegal drugs."
