IT’S back! After taking a break last year, the Village Green festival is back once more with a host of top names and a whole day of fabulous free activities in Chalkwell Park.

It’s set to be a busy Saturday as throngs of festival-goers from Essex and beyond flock to the large scale event, which has had up to 28,000 people through its gates before.

Southend musician and music scene darling Sam Duckworth aka Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, Canvey legend Wilko Johnson and My Life Story frontman Jake Shillingford, will top the bill on the main stage.

They’ll be joined by flamboyant electroswing/dubstep duo the Correspondents, Canvey Island Allstars popular local bands including the Lucky Strikes and Passenger as well as performance poet John Hegley and a host of other top music and spoken words acts.
