Southend Airport opens business lounge for private jet passengers (From Echo)

• "I realise its early days but at the moment it would seem that there is not the amount of use of the airport for the Olympics as it was suggested there would be.
  It appears that up to now most visitors to the games have flown into Stanstead, Gatwick or Heathrow. but as I said...early days. Would love to think that Southend as a whole will indeed prosper as was indicated that it would. Considering that the Cultural events in London at the moment are not doing so well (as reported by the media) then perhaps we might get an influx of tourists to our very own cultural centre at the end of the pier, The Longest Pleasure Pier in the World."
