What you will probably find the charter airlines and private jet operators is that Southend Airport is an unknown eliment.

The time between the airport coming back to full operational use and the Olympics is just too short amount of time for them to see just how well the airport can operate.

They know the service that are in place at Luton, Stansted and Gatwick so stuck with what they know. Had the games been next year then the situation would have been diffrent as the reputation of the service offerd by the airport would have been known.

There has been no wool pulling of the eyes what so ever if that is what you beleive than you really are a fool.

A STATE-OF-THE-ART business lounge has opened at Southend Airport for private jets flying in for the Olympics.

The arrivals hall in the old terminal building has undergone a £500,000 transformation to create the modern area.

Earlier this month, the Echo revealed Landmark Aviation, which has bases at more than 50 airports across the world, named Southend Airport as its only destination for passengers flying in for the Games.

The new area includes a meeting room with full video conferencing technology, a pilot’s rest zone and facilities for drivers who are waiting for passengers.
